Tata Motors has expanded the Harrier lineup in India with the launch of its petrol variant. The SUV is priced from Rs. 12.89 lakh to Rs. 24.68 lakh (ex-showroom), offering buyers a new petrol-powered alternative alongside the existing diesel model.
The petrol Harrier is equipped with Tata’s newly developed 1.5-litre Turbo GDi engine. This motor delivers 168 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque and is available with two transmission choices – a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
According to Tata Motors, the Harrier petrol offers class-leading fuel efficiency. The manual version has also earned a place in the India Book of Records for achieving the highest fuel efficiency by a petrol SUV during a 12-hour endurance drive.
The SUV is offered in multiple trims such as Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X Plus, Fearless X, Fearless X Plus, Fearless Ultra, and Red Dark editions. Both standard and Dark variants can be selected with either manual or automatic transmission options.
Key features of the Harrier petrol include a large 14.5-inch Neo QLED infotainment touchscreen, a premium Dolby Atmos sound system, a digital IRVM with dual dashcam functionality, memory ORVMs with reverse dip function, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS technology.
On the safety front, all petrol variants of the Tata Harrier have secured a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests.
With the addition of the petrol engine, the Tata Harrier now gives customers the flexibility to choose between petrol and diesel powertrains, making it a more versatile option in the midsize SUV segment.
