Battery, Range and Performance

The Chetak C2501 is equipped with a 2.5kWh NMC battery that is neatly integrated into the floorboard. Bajaj claims a range of up to 113km on a single charge. Charging is handled by a 750W off-board charger, which takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge, while 0–80% can be achieved in roughly 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Power is delivered through a rear hub-mounted motor, producing 1.8kW of continuous output and 2.2kW peak power. As a result, the scooter offers a top speed of 55kmph, making it suitable for city commuting rather than high-speed riding.

Chassis, Suspension and Brakes

Unlike the higher Chetak variants, the C2501 uses a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. This setup is designed to handle uneven city roads with ease. Braking duties are managed by a front disc brake, ensuring adequate stopping power.

Design and Dimensions

While the overall styling remains unmistakably Chetak, the C2501 looks slimmer and more compact. It features a round LED headlamp, redesigned rear panels and a single-piece tail-lamp. The scooter has a low 763mm seat height and a kerb weight of around 107–108kg, making it one of the lightest electric scooters in its segment and easy to handle for riders of all sizes.

Features and Practicality

Despite being an entry-level model, the C2501 comes well equipped. Key features include:

  • LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity

  • Call alerts and music control

  • Eco and Sport riding modes

  • Hill-hold assist

  • Reverse mode

  • USB charging port

  • Front storage cubby

  • 25-litre underseat storage

  • Full-length seat for added comfort

The scooter also gets a metal body, an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, and a 3-year / 50,000km warranty, highlighting Bajaj’s focus on durability.

Colours and Rivals

The Bajaj Chetak C2501 is available in six colour options: green, white, black, grey, red and yellow. In the Indian market, it competes with electric scooters like the TVS iQube 2.2 and the Vida VX2 Go.

Verdict

With its affordable pricing, usable range, light weight and trusted brand name, the Bajaj Chetak C2501 presents itself as a sensible electric scooter for daily city use, especially for buyers entering the EV space for the first time.
