Mahindra has officially confirmed that the upcoming facelift of the XUV700 will carry a new name — XUV 7XO. Set to make its world premiere on January 5, 2026, the SUV becomes the brand’s second ICE model to adopt the updated naming format introduced with the XUV 3XO (the refreshed XUV300).
Mahindra XUV 7XO: First teaser reveals key exterior elements
New lighting design • Updated grille • Fresh styling cues
Mahindra released the first teaser for the XUV 7XO, offering a glimpse of the design updates headed for the flagship ICE SUV. The most noticeable change is the introduction of 7-shaped LED DRLs that surround the headlamp unit, which itself features a set of trapezoidal LED elements. This lighting signature is somewhat similar to the one seen on the XEV 9S, yet maintains a clear identity of its own. The SUV also receives redesigned tail-lamps inspired by the brand’s latest EV lineup, along with an upgraded version of Mahindra’s trademark slatted grille.
Spy images indicate that Mahindra has kept the structural and sheet-metal changes to a minimum, meaning the familiar XUV700 silhouette is largely retained in the facelift.

Interior and Features of the XUV 7XO
Though Mahindra hasn’t revealed the cabin yet, early expectations point toward a revamped dashboard featuring a triple-screen layout, similar to what is offered in the XEV 9e and 9S. Seating configurations are likely to include 6-seater and 7-seater options, while the availability of a 5-seat version remains uncertain.
Mahindra XUV 7XO: Engine and Transmission
The XUV 7XO is expected to continue with the powertrains used in the XUV700. This includes:
2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
2.2-litre diesel engine
Both engines are likely to come with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The diesel variant is also expected to retain the AWD (all-wheel-drive) configuration.
