Upcoming Skoda Cars in India in 2026: From Kushaq and Slavia Facelifts to Elroq EV

The year 2025 has been significant for Skoda Auto India, marked by the launch of the new-generation Kodiaq premium SUV and the Octavia RS performance sedan. Moving into 2026, Skoda is shifting its focus toward the mass-market segment. As part of this strategy, the brand is preparing to introduce facelifted versions of its popular midsize models—the Kushaq and Slavia. Notably, both vehicles are set to receive major updates since their original launches (Kushaq in 2021 and Slavia in 2022).

Skoda Superb Facelift

Recent spy images suggest that the Kushaq facelift will feature subtle design changes at the front and rear, with the possible addition of full-length LED light bars. While interior details remain limited, updates to trims, materials, and colour options are expected.

Positioned as a rival to the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Grand Vitara, the updated Kushaq could introduce a segment-first rear-seat massage function. It is also likely to receive refreshed graphics for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.

Safety will see a major upgrade, with the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS technology. The 1.5 TSI variants are expected to get all-wheel disc brakes, while a 360-degree camera setup could also be offered. Skoda is believed to have improved the air-conditioning performance, and based on earlier spy shots, a panoramic sunroof may finally be introduced.

Engine options are expected to remain unchanged, with the 115hp 1.0 TSI and 150hp 1.5 TSI petrol engines continuing. However, sources indicate that the current 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox may be replaced by a new 8-speed automatic unit.

Skoda Slavia Facelift

The Slavia facelift’s expected arrival in 2026 appears well-timed, as rivals such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna are also likely to receive updates around the same period. The Slavia’s sibling model, the Volkswagen Virtus, is also expected to undergo a refresh next year.

Major exterior changes are unlikely. Previous sightings of the Slavia test mule suggest that the overall silhouette will remain largely unchanged. However, typical facelift updates such as revised headlamps, bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs can be expected.

The Slavia may also receive updated digital displays and the addition of ADAS safety features—an important upgrade considering that both the Honda City and Hyundai Verna already offer ADAS. On the powertrain front, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variant could see the 6-speed automatic transmission replaced by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Skoda Elroq (Electric SUV)

While Skoda has not officially confirmed its India launch, the Elroq electric SUV could arrive in 2026. If introduced, it will compete with premium electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1 LWB.

In European markets, the Skoda Elroq is available in three rear-wheel-drive variants—Elroq 50, 60, and 85—featuring 52kWh, 59kWh, and 77kWh battery packs, respectively. A range-topping dual-motor RS variant is also offered. The Elroq 85 delivers a claimed range of up to 560 km on a single charge and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.

Design-wise, the Elroq follows Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language. Measuring around 4.4 metres in length with a 2.7-metre wheelbase, the electric SUV offers a spacious cabin. It also comes equipped with a 13-inch infotainment screen, ample storage solutions, and a comprehensive ADAS safety suite.
